The Breath of the Ancestors: Harvesting Ancestral Wisdom & Transmuting Intergenerational Traumas | Hosted by SAND (Science & Nonduality)

Where do we find strength and stability in a world struggling to shed its decaying skins and birth a new era? Many of us find ourselves in a state of radical amazement, at the power and responsibility that has come to us.

Join three leading teachers, thought leaders, and healers as they explore the pressing work of healing intergenerational trauma from their own cultural perspectives. Rabbi Dr. Tirzah Firestone, anchor of the series, will offer teachings rooted in Jungian psychology and Jewish historical narratives, drawing from Kabbalistic cosmology and practices (Nov. 8). She will  dialogue with New York Times bestselling author and teacher Resmaa Menakem (Nov. 15) on the cultural legacies of racism and white body supremacy and how the residue of this trauma shows up, and can be transformed, amidst this year of uprising for change. The series concludes (Nov. 22) in conversation with Native American leader and author, Dr. Anita Sanchez, who will help us  draw forth indigenous wisdom and medicine for our turbulent moment in history.

In the immediate aftermath of the US election let us:

  • Explore intergenerational trauma science through the lens of Rabbi Dr. Tirzah Firestone's personal research with trauma survivors around the world

  • Learn experiential practices for grounding the body and transmuting frenetic energies

  • Dialogue on the trauma legacies of oppression and persecution in Black and Jewish communities and the wisdom of awareness and embodied healing modalities

  • Discuss indigenous wisdom on healing intergenerational trauma, and why it's important for this time of great upheaval and transformation

  • Gather together with the SAND Global community

November 8, 15 & 22, 2020 at 10am PST
Each meeting will last for two hours

In this time of upheaval, hope, and unparalleled possibility, our ancestors’ legacies reverberate within us. Their wisdom, resilience, as well as the deep scars of their suffering call to us.  This three-part online series  will address how we can harvest the gifts inherent in our bloodlines while also healing the profound cultural traumas resulting from centuries of  racial oppression. colonization, and patriarchal abuses.

This series will feature guided meditations, breathwork, somatic exercises/experiences, and more. Participants will also receive links to practices to deepen their study and growth. There will also be time for questions.
